freya lei adamski, celebrity.
KISS & TELL: thanks so much for agreeing to talk to us today! it's a real honor, let me tell you. so first. let's start with the basics. tell us a little about yourself.
YOU: Well first off thank you for having me, it’s a real pleasure. Well I was born in Lodz, Poland on April 21th into a fairly rich family, I must admit. My family’s name was one known by many in the town though that was not always a benefit as it may seem. I’ve gone by Freya for 20 years but if you have any other nicknames that you prefer, feel free to be creative though not offensive.
K&T: excellent! now that we know some of the key things about you, fill us in on what exactly you do.
YOU: Funny you ask because when I was a young girl, my family was wrapped up in the whole movie business over in Poland and in Europe. All my life I had been fed these ideas that I would want to become an actress. They lived the life of glamour and got whatever they want, so they led me to believe. Turns out, I was not the best actress. I couldn’t remember my lines for the life of me and I always tripped over words in front of the camera. However bad my acting skills, people loved my appearance. This was when modeling because my dream. I started off small in Poland just for a few ads here and there and soon was traveling all over Europe taking any job I could land. When I became demanded enough I decided to shoot in the dark and travel to America, land of the dreamers. Or so it seemed. Now I’m here hoping that America will enjoy my modeling as much as I love modeling for them.
K&T: I see. and just how did you get started in this business?
YOU: Like I said before, I had started off in the acting career. I got discovered by a model agency over in Poland who had seen a filming of a movie I had been shooting. They offered me my first job and were surprised by how natural I was at modeling.
K&T: okay, okay. enough of the boring stuff. give us the juicy details on your love life!
YOU: At the moment I am single, sad right? Its not like that though. Back when I lived in Poland, I had a boyfriend for all my schooling years and he was my one and only. Sure I was young and hormone driven but what girl doesn’t dream of their current boyfriend to become their husband someday? The downfall of my modeling was the constant traveling from one city to the next and that’s why we had gone our separate ways. Not being able to see each other tore us apart. Now that I’m in America, the distance created closer for me but it’s a scary thought to be alone in this unfamiliar place.
K&T: what is your favorite part of the business?
YOU: Its not really the money that is my favorite part of the job because when I started out, I wasn’t raking in all that much of it. It was more of the ability to express my emotions in a snapshot and the feeling I get when I get across what the photographer was going for. Though I’m not going to lie, having a lot of money is nice.
K&T: what is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
YOU: Oh boy, this is a hard one since there is so many things. I love to swim in the ocean particularily along with walking on the beach, playing beach volleyball, really anything on the beach. I tend to flock to it as you might find out. Not only that but I have picked up played guitar surprisingly over the past few year for I had to have something to do on the trips over to the different cities. I usually sing along with my guitar but I am never one to flaunt my voice and refuse to sing in front of anyone. Most of all I love trying new things, that’s why I came here after all.
K&T: are there any projects you just wrapped up or are currently working on?
YOU: I finished up a shoot over in Greece recently, it was very beautiful there and I’d go back in a heartbeat if I got offered the job but in America, I have been taking small jobs here and there trying to introduce myself to this society and seeing if modeling agencies are interested or not.
K&T: tell us about your family.
YOU: my family, what to say about them. Usually you hear stories about how the father is always the ruthless one in the family but it’s the opposite in my family. My mother has always been the one to push me to try out for every play, every movie, detemind that I be an actress. When I proved my failure in acting, she didn’t respond well to the modeling. She didn’t want my flauncing my body around half naked on covers of magazines but not even my power-hungry mother couldn’t stop me from pursueing my dream. On the other side of the story is my father. Yes I am and always will be a daddy’s girl. I have him wrapped around my finger but not in a manipulative way. He’s always been the calm one in the family and is my number one supporter. Whenever I’m having problems, I go to him or call him and his laid back nature never fails to calm my nerves right down. My siblings, both older, are very competitive with me though through everything are always there for me. We do get in fights like every other siblings but tend to work everything out in the end. My older brother plays futbol or soccer and is hoping to go professional but if that fails he will take over our fathers business. Then there is my sister who inherited the acting gene I do not possess. We all strive for high goals but are always competing for our parents pride and affection over the other.
K&T: what's something we don't know about you? any juicy secrets?
YOU: Most people don’t know that I am a very naïve person especially going into new situations where I’m surrounded by a bunch of strangers. I tend to trust people a little more than I should which can lead me into a world of pain someday down the road. I speak fairly good English but get overwhelmed sometimes by the slang and rapidity of some speakers that I can sometimes get lost. I also have battled with anorexia in the past, common for models though I have recovered so far and haven’t relapsed for over a year. I’m hoping that I will never have to go through that again because it was the worst moment of my life.
K&T: speaking of juicy, what's a rumor you've heard about yourself lately?
YOU: I heard a rumor about how I used to live on a farm back in Poland which is really a silly rumor. Do I look like I grew up on a farm?
K&T: thanks so much for chatting! I know you're busy, so we'll be letting you go now. but before you do, care to leave our readers with any words of wisdom?
YOU: Just know that you were given this life because you’re strong enough to live it so never give up on yourself and shot for your dreams.
